Effects
There are various effects and conditions that may apply to a model in the course of a game. These are shown by placing the relevant marker or token either next to the model or on its console
.
The most common effect will be stun
which represents a general, albeit temporary, negative impact on performance. This can be physical shock, psychological panic, or simple fatigue.
If a model has more stun
markers on it than its command
attribute, then it:
- must be allocated a
command point
in order to activate - may not perform any non-common actions
- attacks against this model gain a +1 to the
attack score
For composite models, the stun
markers on each component are treated separately. This will mean some components can be under this effect while others are not.
A blinded model is unable to effectively sight on or attack targets.
If a model has a blinded
marker, then it may not make Attack
actions.
Some weapons or battlefield circumstances may cause a model to catch fire or suffer from some other caustic effect.
For each burning
marker a model has, it will gain a damaged
marker in the resolution phase.
A burning
marker can be removed by performing an Extinguish
action. For every command token
spent boosting that action, an additional burning
marker is removed.
Some models may utilize camouflage, tricks, or even advanced technology to hide their actions or positions from the enemy.
A model may only have a single cloak
marker at a time.
While a model has a cloak
marker the movement
value of the model is halved. Movement happens as normal only using the bases - the model is not placed back on the base at the end of the movement process. If the model overshoots its movement, it loses its cloak
marker in addition to the normal penalties.
Attackers may only target base placements and not the path taken. Attackers also must draw line of sight to the base itself.
A model with a cloak
marker will have a +1 to its defense score
values when attacked.
If a model with a cloak
marker performs any action that will affect other models, then it will lost its cloak
marker at the end of that action’s resolution.

Certain models that are nimble or consist of unusually small targets are more difficult to attack when they leverage their smaller attack surface.
A model with an evasive
marker gains a +1 to its defense score
when attacked.
Taking up defensive positions and postures can help reduce the damage inflicted on a model.
A model with a fortified
marker removes all stun
markers during the resolution phase.
When damage is inflicted on a model with a fortified
marker, reduce damage result by one so that:
- annihilated becomes destroyed
- destroyed becomes damaged
- damaged becomes stunned
- stunned becomes no result
Due to terrain, accumulated damage, or fear a model may become stuck in place.
If a model has an immobilized
marker it may not make any Move
actions.
A model may find itself called out by enemy forces and brought into sharper focus for attackers by laser designators, tracking beacons, or just shouting and pointing.
If a unit has a painted
marker, then any attacks against that model receive a +1 to the attack score
.
